SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon collected $3.5 million in taxes from recreational marijuana sales in January. The money came from 253 individual payments. There are over 300 medical marijuana dispensaries in the state, so some are either late with their payments or they simply decided not to sell recreational pot.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Attorney General’s office will investigate one of nine complaints about Grant County Sheriff Glenn Palmer, who met with people involved in January’s takeover of a national wildlife refuge. The attorney general’s office didn’t specify which complaint would be investigated.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – State health and environmental officials say pollution levels in two Portland neighborhoods aren’t an immediate threat to health. Elevated levels of cadmium, arsenic and chromium were found recently in neighborhoods surrounding two glass plants. Both plants voluntarily stopped using the chemicals last month.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Oregon State has spent the week celebrating its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 26 years. The next step for Gary Payton II and the Beavers comes today. Seventh-seeded Oregon State faces Virginia Commonwealth in Oklahoma City. Despite being the higher seed, Oregon State enters the game as an underdog.
