Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Stephen Curry scored 19 points on an off night, JaVale McGee sparked Golden State off the bench with 15 points, and the short-handed Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers 110-81 in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series Wednesday night without injured leading scorer Kevin Durant. McGee shined on a night none of the usual stars found their consistent shooting strokes. The backup big man made all seven of his field-goal attempts and delivered several more of his signature alley-oop dunks.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Kevin Durant was out for the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of their playoff series with Portland on Wednesday night. Durant strained his left calf during a Game 1 victory Sunday, when he had 32 points and 10 rebounds in his playoff debut for Golden State. He didn’t practice Tuesday and wasn’t seen at the team’s morning shootaround Wednesday, then coach Steve Kerr made the announcement during his pregame press conference.

SEATTLE (AP) — Rookie Mitch Haniger extended his hitting streak to 13 games with three hits and four RBIs, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Miami Marlins 10-5 on Wednesday for their fifth win in six games. Seattle has stabilized after a shaky first 10 day, receiving a punch of offense on a day Felix Hernandez (2-1) did not have his best stuff. Miami starter Edinson Volquez (0-2) barely made it through three innings, giving up four runs and five hits. He walked four for the second straight start.

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Authorities have identified the 36-year-old commercial geoduck diver who died in Puget Sound on Tuesday. The Olympian reports Daniel Hall of Olympia died after he was pulled aboard a commercial geoduck boat near Fox Island. The Coast Guard is investigating.
