Mapleton Surrenders to Reedsport
On Friday evening the Reedsport’s Brave defeated the Mapleton Sailors on the Hardwood. Reedsport tripled the sailors scoring 69 to their 21.
The girls team also fell to Reedsport 38-13.

Ducks and Beavers (Men and Women) Score Wins
The Oregon Ducks defeated Fresno State on Saturday 68-61, the Beavers defeated St. Louis 63 60.
For the ladies…
The Ducks defeated Ole Miss 90-46 with help from a triple double from sophomore guard Sabrina Ionescu.
The Beavers defeated UC Santa Barbara 74-49
Vegas Bowl Bad Odds
The Ducks tried to come from behind Saturday in the Las Vegas Bowl, but Boise State wouldn’t let them. It was 24 to nothing before the Ducks saw the endzone for the first time. They went into the half trailing 24-14. They managed 2 more touchdowns in the 4th quarter, but the Broncos kept pace with the Ducks scoring 2 more of their own for a 38-28 final.
Grapplers Hold Tough
Three Siuslaw high school grapplers were prominent in this weekend’s Grants Pass Winter Kick-off Tournament. Senior Richard Huff finished in third place and Junior Riley Jennings at 170 pounds and sophomore Matt Horillo at 285 both finished in 6th place.
