Three Head To State in Wrestling; Viking Boys Win Final Home Game; Oregon, Oregon State Sweep

Then There Were 3

Three Siuslaw Vikings will be heading to state in wrestling.  In district competition over the weekend senior Ricky Huff along with two freshman wrestlers, Elijah LaCosse and Brady Libby advanced to take the mats at the state competition in Portland at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum this Friday and Saturday.  Huff won by tiebreaker to win the 120 pound weight class.  LaCosse, also at 120, placed fourth but it was enough to advance him to state.  Libby was runner-up in the 106 pound division after losing by fall in the finals.

Viking Boys Win Final Home Game

On Friday the Siuslaw Viking boys defeated Douglas in their final home game of the season. 57-49  Kyle king as his final home game for the Vikings scored 18 points in the win followed by Jake Hickson with 13 and john Rollin with 12.

The Lady Vikings fell short in their final home game 42-29

Oregon Colleges Sweep Washington Colleges

The Ducks handled the Washington State Cougars last night 84-57 and the Beavers downed the Huskies 97-94.  Stephen Thompson Jr. hit the go ahead three pointer leaving 3 tenths of a second left for the Huskies to try to answer.

On the women’s court the beavers beat the huskies 95-57 last night in Seattle. And the Ducks downed the  Cougars 90-79 in Pullman.
