Street Striping

This Thursday and Friday the city of Florence in conjunction with Lane County will begin striping of city streets.  The city reminds drivers to proceed with caution and give workers plenty of room.  Do not pass striping vehicles while they are striping as you can damage your vehicle with wet paint.  Paint can take up to five minutes to dry.  It is recommended that if you do get paint on your vehicle to immediately use warm soapy water and a high pressure hose to remove it.  The city will not be held responsible if a driver drives over wet paint.  The paint also contains thousands of glass beads that allow for night time reflection.

DUII Results

The City of Florence has released its enforcement numbers for the increased DUII campaign over the fourth of July weekend.  Officers gave two citations for speeding along with multiple warnings for other traffic violations.  Three drivers were arrested for driving while impaired and 12 traffic citations for driving while suspended.  Beginning Monday, August 19th through September 1st the city of Florence in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies in Oregon will begin a Safety Belt Blitz and also focus on proper use of child seats, speeding, and distracted driving.
