Body of Missing Man Found

The Body of missing 38 year old Jeremy Golden has been found according to a release from the Lane County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. Carrie Carver.  Golden had been missing since Saturday near Woahink Lake, south of Florence and an extensive search of the area on Sunday was unsuccessful in finding him.  Yesterday afternoon at 4:10 pm information was released by Lane County, but details on the discovery and cause of death were not available.  The Lane County Medical Examiner and Lane County Sheriff’s are investigating.

ReVision Florence

During the next several weeks there is a possibility that one or more lanes of Highway 101 may be closed at times as crews work to finish up curb work and prepare for paving.  Work on the east side of the road will continue and final sidewalk work cannot be completed until utility work underground is finished and utility poles can be removed.  ODOT is planning on paving later this month.

Surplus Items From Reedsport

The City of Reedsport is looking to get rid of some surplus items.  They are accepting sealed bids on items located on the city’s website, www.cityofreedsport.org.  bids on items will be accepted until Thursday, September 19th and must be clearly marked as “sealed surplus bid.”

Shelter To Get Rehab

The West Shelter at Cape Perpetua will undergo some preservation work as part of HistoriCorps work.  The work will take place from September 15th through the 27th.  Part of the restoration work is to restore the roof system to the original 1934 specifications.  Volunteers will work alongside with experts in the field of historic restorations to complete the project.  The area was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corp during the FDR presidency.
