Vikings Victorious Over Marist

Last night the Lady Vikings hosted Marist on the Volleyball court.  Coach Jonathan Hornung said the girls were amply prepared for the match and it showed from the opening set.

4 Vikings were in double digits on kills in the match last night.  Desi Tupua and Alyssa Hurley had 12 and 11 kills respectively and Mia Collins and Kya Blake had 10.  The first two sets went to the Vikings.  Hornung said Zoe Alberty played a key role.

“Zoe led multiple long stretches of service points in both the first set and the second set that really stretched out the leads.”

The first two sets were 25-16 and 29-27.  Marist took the third set 23-25 and the Vikings won the fourth 25-18.  The Vikings have set their sights on Marshfield on Thursday which is an away game.  The Vikings are 6-4 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Mapleton Splits Two Matches

Mapleton Sailor Volleyball picked up their first win last night against Oak Hill.  In the win Briena Jensen had 6 aces and 4 kills.  Daleena Bender had 3 aces and Emily Stevens had 4 kills plus an ace. The early match was a 3-1 victory.  Coach Molly Dooley says the Mapleton girls fought hard in the next match but was overcome by Crow 3-0
