Governor Kate Brown, on the heels of a report issued from the White House, has changed her stand on Restaurants and bars, limiting them to operating as a take-out and delivery service at least for four weeks. The ban is scheduled to start tomorrow. This includes a ban in gatherings of more than 25 people. Exemptions to the ban include grocery stores, pharmacies, retail stores and workplaces. Brown urged food service businesses that cannot operate as take-out to strongly consider closing temporarily. Restaurants and bars that fail to comply will be ticketed for a misdemeanor. Brown plans a special legislative session in the coming weeks to address public assistance and unemployment insurance needs.
