Governor says no festivals, fairs, or concerts or live sporting events with audiences will be allowed until a vaccine is created to attack the virus.  She says cancellation of such events through September is encouraged.

201:the Oregon health authority is advising that any large gathering at least through September should either be cancelled or significantly modified.

This will potentially curb the beginning of high school and college sports in Oregon.  The governor did say that beginning May 8th her office will begin accepting proposals for reopening of business on a county by county basis with phase one of her reopening plan to begin on May 15th.

Graduation Event

Siuslaw High School has released information on how the school will proceed with honoring the graduating class of 2020.  Student leaders met Tuesday and with concern for guidelines of social distancing currently in place decided the day would begin as a car parade at 12 noon, Friday, june 5th. with a commencement ceremony to be held at 6pm at Hans Peterson Memorial Field.  The commencement will be lived streamed for the families and the public to view.  Seniors will be allowed to pick up their graduation announcements tomorrow while picking up their personal belongings from the school.  More details, including the route of the parade will be forthcoming.
