OSAA Meets Today; Duck Alum Gets Major League Start

OSAA Meets Today

The Oregon Schools Activities Association is slated to meet today to look at the current situation of the covid-19 pandemic and try to make recommendations for the upcoming school year as far as athletics are concerned.  The official start of football season has already been moved out to late September, but the possibility of that being moved again or even cancelled is a potential result of today’s meeting.  School officials are still working on back to school contingencies and there is still some planning and negotiations ongoing and final decisions may not come until next week although OSAA Director Peter Weber says they hope to have information ready by Wednesday.

Duck Alum Gets Major League Start

Former Oregon Duck and Current New York Mets Pitcher got his second start in a week last night against the Atlanta Braves.  David Peterson made his major league debut last week against the Boston Red Sox getting the win.  Last night Peterson loaded the bases in the bottom of the second and walked in a run.  He also gave up a solo home run in the 4th.  He did manage to strike out 8 over six innings but was attributed the loss as the Braves won 4-0.
