Suspect Charged in Thanksgiving Stabbing

Two Charges were leveled against 40 Robert Gavin Bowers in connection with the Thanksgiving Day stabbing of two people south of Florence. Lane County has initially charged Bowers with First degree felony assault and one charge of second degree felony assault. Based on a tip from a Florence resident Friday morning, Florence Police arrested Bowers at a storage facility in the 3300 block off Highway. 101. The suspect in a stabbing assault that occurred November 25th allegedly became involved in a verbal altercation with two people on an ATV before attacking them with a knife. Bowers is accused of slashing the male victim in the abdomen and face, then stabbing a female victim in the face. Both victims are recovering from their injuries and did not know Bowers before the assault according . Bowers is being held in the Lane County Jail Eugene.
