Baseball/softball Moved

Sporting activities had to take a back seat to weather conditions yesterday.  The Siuslaw Vikings were to begin their seasons of baseball and softball against Marist Catholic in Eugene, but inclement weather put a halt to that.  The games were temporarily moved to Florence to try to get the games in but ultimately were cancelled, or more accurately postponed, according to Siuslaw Athletic Director Chris Johnson.  The games are currently re-scheduled for this evening at 5pm at Marist.

Mapleton Track and Field

Mapleton Athletic Director Carrie Dean said that all the Sailors track and field events scheduled for this week have been cancelled.  They were scheduled to compete in the Reedsport’s Special District 3 meet on Friday.

Siuslaw Track and Field

The Siuslaw Viking Track and Field athletes had an intramural event yesterday.  Athletes had a chance to compete against their teammates for bragging rights.  During the competition some personal record bests were recorded.  Braydon Linton and Jacob Blankenship posted personal bests in the 800. Freshman Wesley Nicholls posted an 11.8 second run in the 100 meter…for both the boys and the girls there were 15 different personal record times recorded for each.
