Concert to Support Siuslaw Football
A country music recording artist with 65 appearances at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry will be on stage later this summer in Florence. Ray Scott’s August 17th concert at the Florence Events Center will benefit the Siuslaw Football Program. Viking assistant coach Jeff Gray says Scott is “real, old-school country’. Vikings Getting Ready for Another Championship Run
The Siuslaw Vikings have been preparing for the 2022 prep football season since about a week after winning last fall’s 3A division championship. Head Coach Sam Johnson said players have been participating in an informal weight-lifting program and he’s been hosting informal bi-weekly workouts. Johnson said they lost 12 graduating seniors earlier this month but they already have 60 players on the roster. The biggest roster he has seen as both coach and as a player.
