Viking Volleyball Wins

The Siuslaw Vikings swept Harrisburg last night in straight sets 25-15, 25-20, 25-13.  Desi Tupua had 8 kills and two separate 7 serve runs. Rhianna Lane and Hailee Outlaw had 12 kills each.  Coach Ashlee Cole had this to say about the game.

“Overall we took ‘em down pretty well and I was excited to see us come out and have three strong games back to back.”

Cole says the team will be busy next week with two matches and a tournament in Sisters.  The Vikings are 5-1 so far.

Viking Soccer

Siuslaw Soccer coach Londi Tomaro says last night’s game against Sutherlin was the best outing the team has had this year with multiple shots on goal in the first half, scoring two while holding Sutherlin scoreless and no shots on goal.  In the second half Tomaro pulled goalie Derek Vanduch to play in the field.  Vanduch scored a goal in the second half for a final score 3-0 .

Football

This evening the Vikings play at home against Kennedy with a pregame on KCST at 6:45.  The Mapleton Sailors will be at Glendale for a match-up which will be broadcast on KCFM beginning at 6:45 with Siuslaw Sports writer Zach Burtt making the calls.

With just three games left in the series the Ems take a three game lead in the League dropping Vancouver last night 10-3.  The Ems magic number is now one.  The series continues this evening from Vancouver
