Cross Country Victory
On Saturday the Siuslaw Viking cross country team competed in regionals in Arlington, Washington. The boys brought home the win with Kyle Hughes and Sam Ulrich taking the top two spots. Hughes ran the 5,000 meter race in a time of 16:33.5 with Ulrich just a mere second behind at 16:34.9. Jacob Blankenship finished 13th with Brayden Linton finishing in 15th. Camden Linton finished in 30th.
For the Girls Alison Hughes and Corduroy Holbrook placed 3rd and 4th in their 5,000 meter run with times of 20:23.1 and 20:27.8 respectively. Jane Lacouture and Adylin Holbrook finished in 12th and 13th.
College Football
The Oregon Beavers beat the Arizona Sun Devils in Tempe on Saturday 31-7 Ben Gulbranson was 15 of 21 for 188 yards and one TD. Damien Martinez put up 138 yard rushing with two TD/s
The Oregon Ducks also won on Saturday in a tough battle against the Ute of Utah. The game was tied with 11:17 left in the fourth quarter when Camden Lewis hit a 41 yard field goal for the lead and eventually the win. The Ducks and the Beavers meet this Saturday in Corvallis for the annual rivalry. Kickoff will be at 12:30.
College Hoops
The Oregon Ducks played Houston on the basketball court last night. Houston outscored the ducks at Matthew Knight Arena 66-56. The Beavers lost their match on Saturday against Portland State79-66.
The Beaver’s women’s basketball team won their outing against Prairie View A&M 100-59 and the Duck Women play this evening against Southern Utah.
