Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Siuslaw basketball player Mary Jo Fontenot as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Mary Jo had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in Friday’s win over Mapleton. She was also selected as part of the All-Tournament Team.
Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to Macy McNeil with a season high 12 points and two three pointers with a team high 4 assists. Macy also consistently broke down the Sailor’s full court press and a season low four turnovers.
Prep Schedule
This evening the Mapleton Sailors boys and girls basketball will take on Mohawk High School on the road. The game was a scheduled home game but due to water issues in Mapleton the game had to be moved. Pre game begins on KCFM at 5:45.
The Siuslaw Vikings are at home tonight against Myrtle Point. It is their last game before league games begin. The Vikings are currently 5-6. The games will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 5:45 with the girls tipping off first at 6.
