Athlete Of The Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio sports congratulate Mapleton senior basketball player Tristan Stewart at this week’s Athlete of the Week. Tristan’s 17 points and 12 rebounds helped the Sailors elevate to a victory over the McKenzie Eagles in last week’s competition pacing the Sailors to a strong first half doing damage low in the paint.
Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw Viking wrestler junior Dayne Muller who had another perfect performance for the Vikings in this past weekend’s 3A Special District Duals in Harrisburg. Taking 2 weight classes with 7 wins.
Mapleton/Eddyville
It was a close low-scoring battle on the boards last night as the Mapleton Sailors took on Eddyville Charter. The Eagles outlasted the Sailor boys 38-35 the Mapleton girls were unable to field a team and did not play.
Vikings on the Road
The Siuslaw Vikings are scheduled to take on Harrisburg this evening beginning at 6 pm for the girls game followed by the boys at 7:30. The game will air on KCST beginning with the pregame at 5:45.
