Additional Charges for Sex Abuser
A Veneta man who was recently arrested and charged with trying to have sex with an underaged girl has had additional charges added after Lane County Sheriff’s Detectives learned of other unlawful actions including sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. 45 year old Lon Curtis Coffey has remained incarcerated in the Lane County jail since his arrest. Detectives are still uncovering how far reaching Coffey’s influence has been and is looking for more information. They believe that there are still other victims that he may have come in contact with and are asking parents to come forward if they believe Coffey had contact or tried to contact their child. Police additionally found pornographic images on a computer that belonged to Coffey in a Veneta home. Coffey admitted to downloading the photos and also told detectives that he has been involved in child pornography for more than 10 years. To report an issue regarding this case you can contact Lane County Sheriff’s office at 541-682-4150.
