Blood Donations Needed
A severe shortfall in blood donations has been making it difficult for the American Red Cross to keep hospital shelves stocked with “lifesaving” blood products. According to a recent release, they have seen a shortfall of about 25-thousand donations in June and July. Type O blood, both positive and negative, as well as B and A negative blood are the four most needed blood types currently. A scheduled donor clinic in Florence scheduled for August 23rd is already full. But, there are still appointments available at three different clinics in the Eugene and Springfield between this Friday and next Tuesday.
