The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior football player Will Johnson as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Johnson had 15 carries for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns in Friday’s last second win against the defending 2 time state champion Cascade Christian.
Honorable Mention goes to senior soccer standout Charles Nelson. Along with scoring multiple goals in last week’s win over North Bend, Nelson’s focus and intensity helped the team to compete at a high level. Nelson also scored one of the two goals in the Viking loss to Dayton.
