Knights Defeat Vikings; Siuslaw Runner Makes Top 25; Air Force Over Beavers; Ducks Escape With Win; College Hoops

Knights Defeat Vikings

The North Valley Knights put together an extended drive with their first possession to take an early lead Friday night at Hans Petersen Field. The Knights eventually came away with a 55-22 victory over Siuslaw, ending the season for the Far West League champion Vikings. North Valley will face the Vale Vikings Saturday in one of two 3A semifinal games at Bend’s Summit High School. The other semi pitting the Banks Braves against the Burns Highlanders is set for the same location.

Siuslaw Runner Makes Top 25

Siuslaw cross country runner Clayton Wilson finished in the top 25 out of 218 runners Saturday at the Nike Northwest Regionals in Boise. Wilson, the men’s 3A state champion ran the 5,000 meter course in 15:33:10.

Air Force Over Beavers

The Oregon State Beavers continue their struggles on the gridiron with a 28-0 shutout by air Force on Saturday.  The Beavers will be back at home this week against Washington State.

Ducks Escape With Win

The Oregon Ducks squeaked out a win on Saturday narrowly getting past Wisconsin 16-13 to remain undefeated.  They will have the week off and host Washington on the 20th.

College Hoops

In men’s basketball the Ducks defeated Troy last night 82-61 and the Oregon State Beavers beat Cal State Fullerton on Friday 70-51.  The two undefeated teams will meet Thursday in Corvallis.
