Viking Season Perspective
Siuslaw head football coach Sam Johnson put some perspective on the 2024 season last night on the Point After with Ryan Denning. He said that while the goal is a state championship there are 39 other teams that are vying for the same thing.
“It’s great to set those lofty goals, but if that’s all we’re living for and all we’re playing for that end goal, you’re going to miss the whole journey of playing. The joy of football and the growth of football, especially high school football is in the journey of playing.”
The Vikings ended the season as League Champions, and were defeated by the North Valley Knights in the quarter-final 55-22.
