Siuslaw Wrestlers will be on the mat for two days of competition against 31 other schools. The Vikings are hosting the annual Nick Lutz Invitational with competition slated to start this afternoon and conclude tomorrow. Coach Neil Wartnik
“it’s always been my goal to host something that’s meaningful for smaller schools and some of the schools that have some maybe less advanced programs so it’s a special tournament, so we’re excited it’s the first time we’ve ever split it into two days.
Basketball
Tonight the Siuslaw basketball teams will be in Sutherlin for the first league game of the season. JV and Varsity teams will compete against the Bulldogs. The Varsity games will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 5:15 with the boy’s tipoff at 5:30 and the Girls will follow. Bob Sneddon will be the play by play announcer.
The Oregon State Beavers were in heated competition last night against Gonzaga. The two teams fought to an 83-83 stalemate in regulation sending the game into overtime where the Beavers tacked on 14 points and held Gonzaga to just 6 for a 97-89 victory OSU will now face San Francisco tomorrow with a pre-game on KCFM beginning at 6:30
The Oregon Ducks will face Purdue tomorrow that game will air on KCST beginning at 11:30 with a noon tipoff.
