Viking Basketball
Siuslaw boys and girl’s basketball traveled to Sutherlin on Friday to face the Bulldogs. The girls were outgunned by Sutherlin falling 46-18. The Viking Boys held tough but in the end the Bulldogs ended up with the victory 48-37.
Sailor Girl’s Basketball
The Mapleton Sailors girls were on the court on Friday facing Southwest Christian. The team proved too much for the sailors who were defeated 42-29. Lucie Burruss led the sailors with 13 points and 6 steals.
Wrestling: Nick Lutz Memorial Invitational
Jacob Mann improved to 26-3 on the season. The 215 pound wrestler was 4-0 for the Nick Lutz Invitational over the weekend defeating the number 2 seed from Elmira Jonan Cooper. For the ladies senior Abby Riggs placed second in the 115 pound weight class and senior Macali Lade and junior Danin Lacouture took the championship in their respective weight classes.
College Hoops
On Saturday 17th ranked Purdue defeated the Oregon Ducks on the basketball court 65-58. The Oregon State Beavers lost to San Francisco 81-70.
