The Eugene Emeralds fell to the Everett AquaSox 6-1, giving Everett a 2-1 series lead. Eugene struck first with an RBI single from Zander Darby in the second, but Everett responded with three straight innings of home runs, including two from Luis Suisbel. The AquaSox added insurance runs in the 8th and 9th. Darien Smith made his Emeralds debut, pitching 3.1 innings with two strikeouts. The Ems are now 24-9 in the second half and will try to even the series this weekend with 33 regular-season games remaining.

Beaver Watch List

Oregon State long snapper Dylan Black has been named to the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, honoring FBS players for community service, academics, and athletics. Black has played 46 games, volunteered internationally, and supported causes like St. Jude and Dam Able.

Duck Practice

The Oregon Ducks continued preseason practice Thursday at Autzen Stadium. Defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi praised the team’s intensity and rising expectations, especially for newcomers and standout leader Bryce Boettcher. The Ducks practice again today and Saturday, with full weekly workouts starting Monday.
