Ems Drop Series Finale
The Eugene Emeralds dropped the final game in their series with the Spokane Indians. Both teams battled hard with the ems leading by two in to the 8 inning when the Indian Tevin Tucker singled in a run. Then Caled Hobson laid down a sacrifice bunt that brought across the tying run. In the 10th inning Tucker steals 3rd base and came home on a sac fly to take the lead. The Ems had one last chance in the bottom of the 10th but failed to get a man across. The Ems have the night off and return to action in Washington on Tuesday to face Tri-City.
Ducks Wrap First Week
The Oregon Ducks wrapped up their first full week of preseason camp Saturday with a scrimmage at Autzen Stadium. Head coach Dan Lanning said the defense “won the day,” limiting explosive plays and forcing several three-and-outs, while the offense operated efficiently but lacked big downfield passes. Lanning praised the secondary’s communication and noted the team came away healthy — always a priority in fall camp. The Ducks are off Sunday before resuming drills Monday, with another scrimmage set for next Saturday ahead of their August 30 season opener against Montana State.
