Vikings Down to Seconds

The Siuslaw Vikings battled back and forth with Douglas on Friday Night.  Tom Morgan had 5 catches for 166 yard, a pick six 99 yard touchdown and an 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.  the Vikings and Trojans traded touchdowns all evening with the Vikings scoring last with 22 seconds left on a pass from Jericho Lake to Will Johnson for the 46-42 victory.

Cross Country

Mapleton Senior Natalee Stevens put up the numbers on Saturday in the Old Mill Invitational cross country run.  She set the course record with a time of 21:42.93 and took first place in the meet. Another Mapleton senior, Brooklyn Beecher placed fourth with a personal record time of 23:41.57.

Viking sophomore Henry Stone finished second in the 5th Annual Rose City Championship invite with a time of 15:45.72

College Football

The Oregon Ducks three year at home streak ended on Saturday after the Indian Hoosiers defeated by the Ducks 30-20.  Oregon drops to number 8 in the AP top 25.  The Oregon State Beavers cannot buy a “W” losing to Wake Forest at home on Saturday 39-14. Beavers announced that head coach Trent Bray has been let go.
