Soccer Playoff; The Point After; Cross Country Championships

Soccer Playoff

Siuslaw boy’s soccer is heading into the postseason with a home opener this Saturday. The Vikings are seeded 13th and will host 20th-ranked North Valley at 4:30 p.m. at Hans Petersen Field. If Siuslaw advances, they’ll take on number-four Dayton — marking the third straight year the teams have met in the playoffs. The Vikings look to make another strong run as postseason play kicks off.

The Point After

Ryan Denning and Siuslaw Viking Head Coach Sam Johnson will preview tomorrow’s final regular season game against Coquille.  They will also take a look back at last week’s victory against Brookings Harbor.  The point after will be at 7 pm this evening. The Vikings are undefeated in league play.  Playoff Seeding will be announced over the weekend or on Monday.

Cross Country Championships

Valley of the Rogue State Park  will host the OSAA State Cross Country championships today.. Siuslaw will have a host of runners participating for both the boys and girls.  For the girls Adelyn Holbrook, Mia Goss, Pearl Jensen, Claire McNeill, Abigail Jones, Afton Linton, and Clover Holbrook. For the boy’s  Henry Stone, Bentley Nelson, Sailor Jensen, Ezra King, Kale Jensen, Yair Brito Xilot, and Camdon Linton. In the 1a bracket Kamdan Wilson will compete for Mapleton.  There are two Mapleton girls competing on the 3a level, Natalee Stevens and Brooklyn Beecher.
