Siuslaw Grad Sets Sites on 9th Congressional Seat
Claire Lynn on Friday announced her candidacy for Oregon House District 9 as she seeks to succeed retiring State Representative Boomer Wright.
Lynn says her focus, if elected, will be on maintaining an accessible office and helping constituents across the district, including veterans who need assistance navigating services.
“I want to be known as the most accessible and open office to constituents in that regard. It goes far beyond just policymaking, but trying to be a bridge for people that need help.”
Lynn has also raised concerns about the state’s Corporate Activities Tax and its impact on businesses.
“We have a devastating Corporate Activities Tax that businesses have to pay. It’s essentially a hidden sales tax, whether it’s on invoices or even at the grocery store.”
Lynn is facing Coos Bay Councilor Troy Cribbins in the Republican primary. Her full interview is available at kcst.com and kcfmradio.com.
