More information on the Sailors win over Mohawk on Tuesday, Mapleton extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 51-34 victory. Lucie Burruss led the way with a double-double, scoring 22 points and adding 10 steals. She’s now recorded at least two steals in 22 straight games dating back to last season.
The Mapleton Sailor girls will learn this evening if they will go undefeated in league play as they host Crow this evening.
College Hoops
Oregon State erased a 17-point second-half deficit to beat Washington State 74-64 Wednesday night at Gill Coliseum. Josiah Lake II scored 20 of his 22 points after halftime, while Johan Munch added 18 points and 15 rebounds. The Beavers are now 13-12, 6-6 in WCC play, and host No. 6 Gonzaga Saturday.
The Lady Beavers will be in Seattle this evening for a game against Gonzaga.
Oregon women’s basketball survived a wild one Wednesday night, rallying past Illinois 76-73 at Matthew Knight Arena. After blowing a 21-point halftime lead, the Ducks trailed by 8 late before Katie Fiso’s driving basket with 8 seconds left sealed the win. Mia Jacobs led Oregon with 23 points as the Ducks won their fourth straight.
