Devil’s Churn Emergency
Coast Radio was alerted Wednesday morning to heavy emergency activity at Devil’s Churn, just south of Yachats, after travelers reported numerous emergency vehicles in the area between the morning hours and around noon. According to information from Yachats Rural Fire Protection District, crews responded to what was described as a rope recovery call after an earlier report of a possible body in the churn. Authorities have not released additional details at this time. Coast Radio has reached out for further information and will provide updates as they become available.
Input Sought
The Oregon Prosperity Council is gathering statewide input that will help shape economic policy, workforce strategy, and business growth across Oregon — and local leaders say this is an opportunity for Florence to be heard. Officials note that coastal communities face different challenges than larger cities, including workforce shortages, housing constraints, and unique business conditions. The Council is seeking feedback in three areas: business climate, workforce needs, and tools for growth. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and responses will be presented directly to the Council. The deadline to participate is March 20, 2026. Take the Survey
