Duck’s Run Ended
Oregon’s run in the Big Ten Tournament ended Tuesday with a first-round loss to Maryland at the United Center. The Ducks struggled early, shooting just 3-for-22 in the first half and falling behind 33-12 at halftime. Oregon outscored the Terrapins in the second half but couldn’t overcome a deficit that reached 24 points. Senior Nate Bittle led the Ducks with 16 points and six rebounds as Oregon finished the season with a 12-20 record.
Ducks Roll on Xavier
Oregon baseball rolled to a 10-0 win over Xavier in eight innings Tuesday at PK Park. Jax Gimenez highlighted the game with a grand slam, while three Oregon pitchers combined for a one-hitter. Toby Twist earned the win, allowing just one hit over five innings with six strikeouts. The Ducks improved to 13-3 on the season.
Oregon Women Fall to Gonzaga
Oregon State women fell to Gonzaga 76-66 in the WCC Championship game after a tight battle throughout. Jenna Villa led the Beavers with 20 points, while Tiara Bolden added 19 and eight rebounds. Lizzy Williamson scored 12 and just missed a double-double. Oregon State led at halftime but Gonzaga pulled away late. The Beavers now await postseason selection decisions.
