Viking Sports

Siuslaw Baseball will be in Marshfield today.  The Vikings will face the 4A Pirates beginning at 4:15 on KCST. The Vikings are 1-1 so far this season.  Viking Softball is scheduled for a home double header today against Bandon.  Game one will begin at noon today.

NCAA Women

The Oregon Duck Women were ousted from the NCAA tournament after struggling against the top ranked Texas Longhorns. Texas held the Ducks to just 24 second half points as they went on to score 100 in the 42 point win.

College Preseason Baseball

The Oregon State Beavers took the series away from UC Irvine over the weekend with three straight victories.  Yesterday the Beavers capped the series with a 9-5 after trailing 2-0 in the game.

The Oregon Ducks took the first two fames of their series but Northwestern took them to extra innings yesterday. The Ducks were trailing 10-2 but a series of hits and three home runs over the next 4 innings tied the game sending it into extra innings.  After 11 ½ innings Northwestern scored on a left field single and then held off the ducks in the bottom to claim the victory 11-10.
