Rose City Invite
The Siuslaw Viking track and field team will be heading to Lincoln High School in Portland on Saturday for the Rose City Track and Field Championship Invite. The meet, named for Portland’s “Rose City” nickname, has grown over the years into a competitive early-season event that draws top high school athletes from across Oregon and the Northwest. It serves as a key benchmark for teams looking to measure progress ahead of district and state competition, offering a preview of some of the region’s top talent.
Viking Sports
Tomorrow the Viking baseball and softball teams will be in Sutherlin for a pair of double header games. games will begin at 3pm. The boys games will air on KCST beginning at 2:45.
College Baseball
The Oregon Ducks head to Seattle on Friday to face the Washington Huskies for a three game series. The Huskies have been struggling this season with a 20-24 record, but are on a 2 game win streak. the Ducks hope to extend their 6-game win streak.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley took an early 5-0 lead in the top of the third inning to control the Oregon State Beavers. the Beavers never led. Conner Mendez got the loss for the Beavers. the Beavers will spend the weekend at home hosting Cal State Northridge with games beginning tomorrow. Friday’s game will air on KCFM beginning at 5pm.
