Baseball/Softball Victories

The Siuslaw Viking baseball team improved to 4-6 in league play with a 16-1 win over Coquille yesterday. The game was shortened by the 10‑run rule as the Vikings dominated the Red Devils. Siuslaw will travel to Coquille on Friday for a league doubleheader.

The Viking girls softball team also picked up a shutout victory, defeating Coquille 10-0. They’ll also be on the road Friday for a doubleheader in Coquille.

Ladies Golf

The Siuslaw Vikings girls golf team tuned up for next week’s district championships Monday, placing 7th among 11 schools at Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell. Senior Jozalyn Hulet led the Lady Vikings with a 116. Freshman Bella Maldonado added a 118, Lily Lewis shot 130, and Violet Ory‑Remer finished at 138. Siuslaw totaled 502. The Lady Vikings return to Emerald Valley this Monday for the OSAA Special District 4 championships.

OSU Win in Extra Innings

Oregon State broke a 4‑4 tie with two runs in the 12th inning and beat Portland 6‑4 Monday night at Hillsboro Hops Ballpark. Tyler Inge doubled to start the rally, Bryson Glassco followed with a pinch‑hit RBI single, and Paul Vazquez added an insurance run. Junior Noah Scott earned the save. Josh Proctor finished with two doubles and 2 RBI. Oregon State improves to 37‑11 and opens a series at Long Beach State Friday night.
