Closing Our The Season: Baseball/Softball

Tomorrow marks the end of the regular season for baseball and softball at Siuslaw.  The teams will host Glide in a double header beginning at 3pm.  The loss Tuesday for the boys has pretty much eliminated them from post season play though a mathematical chance still exists, but the Vikings would have to win both games and hope for some losses across the division.  Airtime was originally posted for 2pm, however changes to the schedule were made later in the year and the boys will be on the air on KCST beginning at 2:45 tomorrow with the first pitch for game one set for 3.

Track and Field Dominance

The Siuslaw Vikings boys and girls track and field teams both won team titles Wednesday at the Pat and Joan Towne Invitational at Myrtle Crest. The Lady Vikings finished first with 158 points, well ahead of runner‑up Bandon’s 99. Junior Aidell Cadet won four events, taking the 400 meters, the 100 hurdles, the high jump, and the triple jump. On the boy’s side, Siuslaw totaled 150 points to edge second‑place Sutherlin’s 115. Senior Will Johnson won three events, claiming victories in the pole vault, long jump, and triple jump. Other winners included Thomas Morgan in the boys 100 and 200, Jacob Mann in the shot put, and Henry Stone in the 800. For the girls, Danin Lacouture won the shot put, and Clover Holbrook took first in the 1,500. Both teams are back in action Friday at Cottage Grove for the Wally Ciochetti Invitational.

College Baseball

The Beavers and Ducks will be on the field this evening for their final series of the regular season.  The Beavers will host Air Force beginning at 5pm on KCFM.  The Ducks will host USC beginning at 7pm from PK Park.

Duck Softball

The Oregon Duck softball team will be hosting regional action in Eugene.  The Ducks will open their play tomorrow against Idaho State.  The Ducks are 40 and 12 overall.  They lost the last two regular season games.
