Cross Country
Siuslaw cross country could be in for another big season this fall. Coach Chris Johnson says the defending 3A state champion boys team looks strong on paper, led by returning top runners Henry Stone, Bentley Nelson and Ezra King. The girls squad is younger, but Johnson says both teams have their sights set on podium finishes at the state championships.
Ems Split with Everett
The Eugene Emeralds closed out their series with Everett on a high note, beating the AquaSox 9-1 Sunday night to earn a split of the six-game set. Dakota Jordan homered and drove in 2 runs, while Lisbel Diaz added a homer and 2 RBI. Niko Mazza earned the win as Eugene improved to 46-29 on the season.
