Ems Split with Canadians; Oregon Sends 2 to WCBC; UO Alum Heading to All-Star Game

Ems Split with Canadians

The Eugene Emeralds fell 5-3 to the Vancouver Canadians Sunday, splitting the six-game series at three wins apiece. Vancouver built an early 4-0 lead, and despite a 2-run homer from Jakob Christian and a late run in the fifth, the Ems couldn’t complete the comeback. Eugene is now 7-8 in the second half and returns home to open a key series against Spokane.

Oregon Sends 2 to WCBC

Oregon pitchers Tanner Bradley and Will Sanford have been selected to the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. The two Ducks are among 28 players who will represent Team USA at the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan July 11th through the 15th. Bradley earned multiple All-America honors after posting a 1.66 ERA, while Sanford went 9-2 with 126 strikeouts. They are the first Oregon players named to the national team since 2018.

UO Alum Heading to All-Star Game

Oregon State will have three representatives at the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Former Beaver standouts Travis Bazzana, Drew Rasmussen and Adley Rutschman have all earned All-Star selections. Bazzana gets the nod in his rookie season with Cleveland, while Rasmussen is a repeat selection for Tampa Bay and Rutschman earns his third career All-Star appearance with Baltimore. The game will be played July 14th in Philadelphia.
