False Alarm at Eugene Airport
A reported aircraft emergency prompted a response at Eugene Airport Wednesday night. Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched following reports of a possible problem involving an aircraft. Airport officials later determined the incident was a false alarm, and no fire, injuries, or damage were reported. Few details have been released about what triggered the response, but the situation was cleared without further incident.
EBT Benefits
Families have until September 1st to apply for Summer EBT food assistance through the Oregon Department of Human Services. The program provides 120 dollars per eligible child to help cover grocery costs while school is out. Most eligible families already received benefits in June, including those enrolled in SNAP, TANF, or certain Oregon Health Plan programs. Families who did not receive benefits automatically may still qualify based on income and participation in school meal programs. ODHS and the Oregon Department of Education are urging families to apply before the deadline. Benefits must be used within 122 days.
