Chip Seal

The City of Florence is continuing its 2026 chip seal program this week along Rhody Drive. Public Works crews and contractor Sierra Santa Fe Corporation are scheduled to work through Wednesday, weather permitting. Chip sealing will take place on Rhody Drive between Ninth Street and Wildwinds Street. The work includes application of a hot oil chip and fog seal and could result in minor traffic delays. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible and watch for traffic control flaggers. On Wednesday, the City is also scheduled to pave the Bay Street parking lot in front of Waterfront Depot

Local businesses and residents are encouraged to welcome the visitors, with one of the event’s highlights coming Friday afternoon when the popular Bay Street Takeover fills Old Town Florence with Broncos and spectators from across the region.
