COVID Shots

Oregon Health Authority says updated COVID-19 vaccines could be available statewide as soon as this weekend under a new standing order issued ahead of the 2026-27 respiratory virus season. The order recommends vaccination for those at highest risk of severe illness, including older adults, young children, pregnant individuals, people with underlying health conditions, and health care workers. OHA says the vaccine will also remain available to anyone who chooses to receive it. Information on vaccine locations is available through local providers, 211, or vaccines.gov.

Classic Car Show

The Florence-Siuslaw Lions Club will host its annual Classic Car and Truck Show this Friday and Saturday, with more than 130 vintage vehicles expected in Florence. Friday’s preview event runs from noon to 5 at the Port of Siuslaw parking lot, giving the public a chance to see many of the cars entered in Saturday’s main show. Then on Saturday, Old Town Florence becomes the showcase for pre-1984 American, British and German vehicles, including classics, customs, hot rods and muscle cars from across the Pacific Northwest. The free, family-friendly event opens at 9 a.m. with a National Anthem ceremony and 9/11 commemoration. Proceeds from raffles and souvenir sales will support Florence-Siuslaw Lions Club charitable programs benefiting local students, families and community organizations.
