SEATTLE (AP) – Mercedes Wetmore scored a career-high 16 points
to help Washington beat Seattle 72-53 last night. Reserve Mackenzie
Argens added 12 points and nine rebounds for Washington in a clash
between crosstown rivals. Jazmine Davis scored 14 and Aminah
Williams added 12 for the Huskies. Ashley Ward scored 16 to lead
Seattle. Kacie Sowell and Elle Kerfoot each had 11 points for the
Redhawks, who shot 3 of 19 on 3-pointers.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Jared Cunningham scored a career-high 35
points to lead Oregon State to an 82-72 win over Hofstra in the
TicketCity Legends Classic last night. Devon Collier added 25
points, also a career best, as the Beavers rose to 3-0 for the
first time in 11 years. Oregon State outscored Hofstra 12-4 in the
first 2:24 of the second half to go ahead and never trailed again.
Hofstra got within two – twice, before Oregon State pulled away.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is hopeful his
four players who are suffering from concussions will be cleared to
play this week at St. Louis. Carroll said yesterday that wide
receivers Doug Baldwin and Sidney Rice, strong safety Kam
Chancellor and linebacker David Vobora are all making progress.
Baldwin, Rice and Chancellor were hurt last Sunday against
Baltimore. Vobora was hurt in Seattle’s loss at Dallas two weeks
ago.

UNDATED (AP) – Fourth-ranked Oregon will clinch a place in the
first Pac-12 Conference championship game with a victory over USC
on Saturday. After the 53-30 victory over Stanford last Saturday,
the Ducks were positioned to host the inaugural league championship
game with a win in one of their final two games. The Ducks are 9-1,
7-0 in Pac-12 play. They’ll host the Trojans before the annual
Civil War game against Oregon State.
