INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Lou Amundson scored a career-high 21 points
to help Indiana beat the Portland Trail Blazers 92-75 on Tuesday
night, snapping the Pacers’ four-game losing streak. Amundson shot
10 for 11 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds for the Pacers.
LaMarcus Aldridge scored 17 points and Nolan Smith added 10 for the
Trail Blazers.

SEATTLE (AP) – Terrence Ross scored 23 points and top-seeded
Washington beat Texas-Arlington 82-72 last night in the first round
of the National Invitation Tournament. C.J. Wilcox added 14 points
off the bench and Darnell Gant had 13 for the Huskies,
regular-season champions of the Pac-12. Washington will host
fourth-seeded Northwestern in the second round Friday.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Devoe Joseph scored 25 points and Oregon
beat LSU 96-76 in the first round of the National Invitation
Tournament yesterday. Garrett Sim also had 15 points and Tony Woods
14 for the Ducks, who will host Iowa in the second-round. E.J.
Singler and Carlos Emory added 11 points each. Justin Hamilton
scored 21 points to lead the Tigers.

PHOENIX (AP) – Zack Greinke (GREHN’-kee) threw three scoreless
innings for Milwaukee’s split squad and the Seattle Mariners came
back to beat the Brewers 7-4 in spring training in Arizona. Greinke
gave up one hit and struck out five. He left after issuing his lone
walk to Casper Wells leading off the fourth. Alex Liddi hit a
go-ahead single for Seattle in a five-run ninth inning.

NOME, Alaska (AP) – Dallas Seavey won the Iditarod Trail Sled
Dog Race yesterday, becoming the youngest musher to win the nearly
1,000-mile race across Alaska. Seavey, who turned 25 on March 4,
the day the race officially started north of Anchorage, was the
first musher to reach Nome, coming into to the Bering Sea coastal
community at 7:29 Alaska time last night.
