ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Mike Napoli and Nelson Cruz both homered before combining on a big defensive play, and Matt Harrison pitched eight strong innings to lead the Texas Rangers past the Seattle Mariners 4-2 last night. Napoli homered for the second game in a row, a tiebreaking, three-run shot in the sixth off Steve Delabar. Cruz homered in the second. Harrison struck out five and allowed two runs. Joe Nathan worked the ninth for his 11th save in 12 chances.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon State Beavers are headed to the Baton Rouge Regional where they’ll face Belmont on Friday. It will be Oregon State’s fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament, a school record. The Beavers won back-to-back College World Series titles in 2006 and 2007. The Beavers have been to the postseason seven times under coach Pat Casey, and they’ve made 13 trips overall.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Ducks, a No. 5 national seed for the NCAA tournament, will host Cal State Fullerton, Austin Peay and Indiana State at PK Park in the Eugene Regional starting Friday. It is the first national seeding in program history. The Ducks finished 42-17 this season and 19-11 in the Pac-12 Conference. They were third in the league after a season-ending three-game sweep by the Oregon State Beavers this past weekend.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Maya Moore scored 19 points, shooting 5 for 7 on 3-pointers, and the defending champion Minnesota Lynx kept rolling with an 84-71 victory over the Seattle Storm on Sunday. Minnesota set a team record with its 10th consecutive win dating to last season, including a sweep of the WNBA finals. In starting 4-0 for just the second time in team history, the Lynx have won seven consecutive regular-season games, two off their nine-game run last season.
