The Three Rivers Sandblasters struggled at the plate and wound up play in Southern Oregon at the Medford tournament with three weekend losses. Friday, Medford came out on top 7-2; Klamath Falls got the 11-0 shutout win Saturday; and Mound Time of Portland won 8-3 yesterday. The Sandblasters are back at home and on the diamond this afternoon against Corvallis at three… airtime on Coast Radio Sports will be at 2:45.
In Northwest League baseball the Eugene Emeralds fell to the Vancouver Canadians Friday night 9-2… Saturday’s game was rained out and will be made up later in the season. Then the Emeralds halted a two-game skid yesterday in Everett, Washington with a 5-4 win over the Aqua Sox. Eugene led by two going into the bottom of the ninth only to see the Sox tie it. Another two run lead for the Ems came in the top of the tenth off the bat of Corey Adamson. Everett equaled that in the bottom of the frame, sending the game to the 11th inning. Brian Adams beat a throw to home in the top for the ultimate winning run. The two teams meet tonight and tomorrow in Everett before moving the six game split series to PK Park beginning Wednesday.
