Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…
John Dodson was three-for-four in the opening game and Jake Thompson earned two saves on the mound as the Three Rivers Sandblasters swept the Canyon Crushers in both halves of a Zone-three double-header Saturday afternoon in Stayton.
Game one was tied at six-all after nine innings, but the Sandblasters scored three runs for the lead in the top of the tenth, then gave up two in the bottom half, but held on for the 9-8 win. Ryan Smith was three-for-six at the plate with two doubles and one RBI.
Game two came out in favor of Three Rivers, 8-7, in seven innings. Jimmy Mack scored twice and was three-for-four with one RBI. Ryan Smith was only one-for-four at the plate, but had four RBI… three of those on a 3-run dinger in the fifth inning to give the ‘Blasters as two run lead.
Three Rivers will be back on the diamond tomorrow afternoon in Albany against the Mid Valley Rockets.
Emeralds String Together Six
The Eugene Emeralds had a sweep of their own over the weekend, extending their win streak to six with three wins over the Indians in Spokane, 4-2; 3-1 and 8-2. A new series begins this evening in Eugene against the Vancouver Canadians.
