PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A judge will hear arguments this morning on whether to delay a civil lawsuit filed by a Kryon Horman’s biological mother against the missing boy’s stepmother. Desiree Young has sued Terri Horman, who was the last person to see the boy alive when he vanished in June 2010. Horman has asked for a two-year delay to let a criminal investigation play out.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland police gang enforcement team is investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old man as he was sitting in a car in front of King School in northeast Portland. A suspect wearing dark clothing was seen running away through King School Park just after midnight. Police say the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

GLADSTONE, Ore. (AP) – Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man by a police officer in the south Portland suburb of Gladstone. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s office released few details of the shooting. But a man who identified himself as the 23-year-old man’s father told KATU-TV that his son was depressed and had talked about suicide.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A court document says a 12-year-old boy told police that he awoke during a sleepover at a Woodburn, Ore., priest’s house to find the man touching him. The Oregonian reports that 46-year-old Rev. Angel Perez made an initial appearance in court yesterday on sexual abuse and other charges. Perez did not immediately return a phone request for comment.
