Sadie Wells served 20 straight points to ice the third game and another Far West League Volleyball victory for Siuslaw yesterday as the Vikings downed the Brookings-Harbor Bruins in three games. Siuslaw remains undefeated in Far West League play, the only team still holding that distinction. In other Far West matches last night, Douglas downed South Umpqua in four; Sutherlin beat North Bend in three.
The Reedsport Braves beat Bandon in three games for a non-league volleyball win. And, in the Mountain West, Mapleton won game one, but the McKenzie Eagles edged them in the next three to come away with the win in Blue River.
Looking at the prep football schedule… the Siuslaw Vikings will open league play in Myrtle Creek this evening against South Umpqua… kickoff is at seven with the pregame show on Coast Radio Sports at 6:45. Mapleton will face the Eagles in Yoncalla; Reedsport has the week off.
The Siuslaw Vikings will host the Woahink Invitational Cross Country meet tomorrow at Honeyman State Park. 35-teams will be competing beginning with the first middle school race at ten AM.
