Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) – Brock Motum scored 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field to help Washington State crush Utah Valley 72-49 last night. Mike Ladd added 13 points, DaVonte Lacy chipped in 11 and hit three 3-point baskets and contributed with six assists to help Washington State start its season perfectly. Washington State ended the half with a commanding 45-22 lead, including nailing seven 3-pointers in the half. The Cougars would stretch their lead to 64-36 with just over 11 minutes to play.

SEATTLE (AP) – Kristi Kingma scored 22 points and Jazmine Davis had 21, including a key three-point play late in overtime, and Washington defeated Seattle 77-75 last night. Davis’ basket and free throw with 16 seconds to play in overtime gave the Huskies a 77-73 lead. Talia Walton added 15 points and four blocked shots, and Mercedes Wetmore scored 12 for Washington. Kacie Powell led Seattle with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Ashley Ward scored 17 for the Redhawks; Sylvia Shepherd added 14.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Coach Brian Kelly says No. 3 Notre Dame’s season won’t mean any less if the Fighting Irish go undefeated and don’t win a national championship. Kelly says he believes Kansas State and Oregon are higher in the BCS standings because they started the season ranked higher and have stayed there. The Irish are 10-0 for the first time since 1993 with games remaining against Wake Forest and at Southern California.

UNDATED (AP) – Oregon State’s quarterback shuffle is emblematic of what has been happening around the Pac-12 all season. Injuries and inconsistency have dogged many teams in a league that has always been known for its strong quarterbacks. The No. 15 Beavers started out the season with Sean Mannion under center. Because of injury they went to Cody Vaz. Then it was back briefly to Mannion. This week it’s undetermined. Other Pac-12 teams that have switched quarterbacks include No. 14 Stanford, as well as Colorado, and Washington State, which has gone back and forth between Jeff Tuel and Connor Halliday.
