Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) – Rodney Cooper hit a 3-pointer from right in front of the Alabama bench with 12.2 seconds left and the Crimson Tide, who led by as many as 15 points in the second half, beat Oregon State 65-62 last night in the 2K Sports Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. Alabama seemed to be in control of the game when it took a 52-37 lead with 12:31 left on a 3-pointer by Trevor Lacey. But the Beavers stopped turning the ball over and took advantage of a shooting slump by Alabama.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Ryan Nicholas had 22 points and eight rebounds as Portland defeated Idaho State 51-48 last night. Kevin Bailey added 12 points for the Pilots, who shot 45.5 percent from the floor. Chris Hansen led Idaho State with 15 points and Neveij Walters had 10. After a back-and-forth first half, Idaho State went scoreless for the first 6½ minutes after the break. Idaho State shot just 33 percent in the second half after hitting 48 percent of its shots before the break.

SNOHOMISH, Wash. (AP) – U.S. women’s soccer team goalkeeper Hope Solo reportedly married former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens this week, hours after Stevens was released from custody following a domestic violence arrest. KING5-TV reports that Solo and Stevens were married Tuesday night near Snohomish in a small ceremony. A Kirkland Municipal Court judge had released Stevens after a court appearance earlier, saying there was no evidence connecting Stevens to any assault.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners say they will install the largest scoreboard video screen in the major leagues at Safeco Field during the offseason. The Mariners say the screen debuting for the 2013 season will cover the same area as the old scoreboard but the screen itself is nearly 10 times the size of the current one. The team says the viewing area will be the equivalent of about 2,182 42-inch flat screen TVs.
